Volunteer Internship, Middle East and U.S. Foreign Policy, Spring 2019
CFR’s volunteer internships give selected volunteer interns the opportunity to receive training in the area of foreign policy; as well as skills training in areas such as writing, research, and program planning.
The volunteer intern will have the opportunity to conduct research on current foreign policy topics, improve their research, writing, editing and critical thinking skills. The volunteer intern will assist in all research and logistical task including both short and long-term research projects.
CFR volunteer internships are unpaid, require a 16 - 21 hour commitment, and are filled on a rolling basis.
The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):
Conducting research and analysis for the senior fellow's book project, articles, and reports
Aiding the research associate with a series of study group sessions scheduled for the spring
Supporting the logistical aspects of events
Undergraduate or graduate student, majoring in International Relations, Middle East Studies, Politicial Science, or a related major
Relevant research experience or internships a plus
Stong computer skills with word and excel
Professional proficiency in Arabic desired, but not required
