Policy Associate

 

Works with staff as appropriate to support policy agenda, conduct research & analysis, assist with federal relations and advocacy activities.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

•        Assist with specific public policy projects

•        Prepare written products on a variety of topics

•        Collect, compile and analyze data

•        Develops one-pagers, talking points, issue briefs, presentations for internal and external audiences

•        Develops and reviews materials, including data visualization, reports letters, testimony, member updates

•        Assists in the development and implementation of new policy initiatives 

•        Coordinates policy related workshops and meetings

•        Drafts and edits content for website, newsletter, social media and makes suggestions for resources and related information

•        Attends and reports on briefings, hearings, coalition meetings and conference calls as needed

•        Develops and maintains professional relationships with staff and experts on other organizations

•        Tracks, reports and analyzes legislative and regulatory actions

 

Skills and Abilities:

 

•        Strong writing and editing

•        Synthesizes complex data and conveys it verbally and in writing

•        Comfortable speaking in formal and informal settings

•        Strong attention to detail

•        Ability to work independently and be a self-starter to ensure goals of organization are met

•        Ability to exercise discretion and judgement

•        Able to handle competing demands, be agile to changing circumstances, be proactive

Education and Experience:
