Senior Project Manager - Policy, Strategy and Perfomance

Main Purpose Liverpool City Council is looking to recruit to Senior Project Manager - Policy, Strategy and Perfomance under a 10 month fixed term contract. The successful candidate will work across Community Services Directorate and partner organisations to manage specific projects and initiatives. To support the Directors service priorities and deliver efficiencies through innovation and commercialization.
This is a fixed term contract for up to 10 months.
Key Accountabilities To support Community Services Leadership Team in the delivery of mayoral priority projects, initiatives and service transformation.
To prepare and maintain project plans and proactively manage changes in the project scope including potential risks.
To analyse, interpret and report on new legislation and guidance and industry best practice.
To liaise with external partners and agencies including other public sector bodies, private and voluntary sector organisations and consultants/contractors to ensure national and local strategies and statutory obligations are fulfilled.
To provide advice on a range of issues across the Directorate and assist in the formulation, planning and monitoring of service specific policies and procedures.
To coordinate, monitor and update key Directorate documentation including the Business Plan, Communications Plan and Performance Information.
To actively promote Community Services with external organisations and manage stakeholders involvement and engagement as required.
To develop in support engagement and consultation mechanisms to inform service transformation.
To work within the defined governance structure including the production of strategies, action plans reports and presentations as required.
To ensure effective communication/Interaction with key stakeholders e.g. Senior managers, officers, elected members, Community groups, Voluntary Sector etc.
To deputise for the Senior Programmes Manager as required including attending Community Services Leadership Team and the management and allocation of resource to meet the needs of the business.
