Manager, Policy Advice and Committee Support

The Open University UK - Milton Keynes

The Policy Advice and Committee Support Centre performs a key role in providing advice about the University’s assessment and qualification policies and in the formal approval of student results. You will be the Working Secretary to the Module Results Approval and Qualifications Classification Panel (MRAQCP) writing papers and minutes and also managing the approval of credit awarded by Open University validated institutions. Working alongside another manager, you will manage the processes for the appointment of External Examiners and their continuing contract with the University. You will also work with CAUs in managing Cluster Examination and Assessment Board structures and their membership, in line with approved policy.

Excellent communication skills are essential, as are excellent IT skills. You will have an aptitude for writing committee papers, for interpreting and analysing information, along with a keen eye for attention to detail and accuracy.

You will provide direct support to the Assistant Director (Policy) with regard to the work associated with the MRAQCP, and to the Senior Manager (Policy Advice and Committee Support) for all other aspects of the role. You will need to be able to prioritise your work to meet deadlines and to be able to work effectively under pressure.
