About the Role
Working in the Chief Executive's Office at the heart of the County Council, you will be part of the Policy and Performance Team providing support, information and advice to the County Council Members, the Chief Executive and Corporate Management Team on both local and national policy development in pursuit of the organisation’s priority outcomes.

You will be the right person for us if you are motivated by playing an active role in facilitating the success of the team - your research, management and organisation skills, ability to write reports and willingness to “roll up your sleeves” will help you succeed. You will understand and appreciate that “how” you do something can often be more important than “what” you do and will thrive working in the fast paced, corporate centre of a large, political organisation. Given the nature, complexity and sensitivity of the work of the Chief Executive’s Office, your integrity, adaptability and ability to understand quickly complex subject areas will be essential.

We know we are asking a lot of you – in return, you can expect to work in a highly supportive and caring environment that will help perform to the best of your abilities.

Don’t take our word for it – please see what our former Policy Officer had to say about their time in the role in the statement attached below.
