Workplace Programs Legal Internship (graduate and law students)
National Partnership for Women & Families

Job Code:
B26859
Location: USA – Washington, DC

Description – Job Description

The National Partnership for Women & Families promotes fairness in the workplace, reproductive health and rights, access to quality affordable health care, and policies that help women and men meet the dual demands of work and family. We believe that actions speak louder than words, and for four decades we have fought for every major policy advance that has helped women and families.

The National Partnership seeks a Legal Intern to support our Workplace (work/family & workplace fairness) programs. Our Workplace team works to advance work/family policies (e.g., paid sick days, paid family leave, the Family and Medical Leave Act, workplace flexibility) and workplace fairness initiatives (e.g., employment discrimination, equal pay, judicial nominations).

The Legal Intern’s duties will include researching and analyzing legal and policy matters; drafting legal briefs, reports, talking points, fact sheets, and other written materials; tracking state work-family legislation; attending meetings, hearings, and briefings; and monitoring federal and state court litigation.

Qualifications include strong research, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills; the ability to manage multiple tasks and take initiative; and the ability to work independently.

The internship is unpaid but is available for course credit and may be full-time or part-time.

Note: We accept intern applications on a rolling basis and welcome interested law students to submit a cover letter stating your interest in the position and your availability (days/hours per week), resume and a brief writing sample to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
