We are seeking an intern in our Washington, DC (Georgetown) office.


The intern will gain hands-on research experience to complement his/her academic coursework. The intern will provide technical and research support on the National Household Education Surveys (NHES) and the Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC). Responsibilities will primarily include assisting with data analysis; conducting data file review and quality checks; preparing and reviewing data tables, figures, and data documentation; assisting with writing and reviewing research papers and statistical reports; data coding; contributing to survey statistics and methodology development tasks; revising manuscripts in response to editorial and technical comments; preparing products for release based on detailed publication standards; assisting with website updates; and developing presentations for professional audiences


This position requires a bachelor's degree in education, economics, statistics, public policy, psychology, sociology, or a related field, and basic research experience. An outstanding academic record, excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and proficiency within the Microsoft Office environment required. Our desired candidate will be familiar with quantitative research methods and data analysis; be comfortable reviewing and producing data tables; possess effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; have excellent organizational and time management skills; and have an interest in education research at the national or international levels. Proficiency in SPSS, Stata, or R a plus.
