Description –

Welcome to the coolest internship experience. Ever. In addition to getting substantive work experience, Generation Progress interns get access to special events such as film screenings and conferences and the opportunity to use words like “substantive” on a daily basis.

Generation Progress interns learn many of the basic skills it takes to work at a progressive nonprofit from a front-row seat. Other benefits include:

Other duties may include conducting targeted research and reporting on policy meetings, seminars, hearings, and lectures. Whenever possible, interns are encouraged to write on the subject of their choice either as a contributor to a larger final piece or as an individual author of a column for the website.

Eligibility: All high school, undergraduate, master's level, Ph.D., and J.D. students are eligible to apply. People are also eligible if they are a veteran or a recent college graduate within six months of graduation.

All summer interns work full time and a minimum of 8 weeks, although 10 weeks is preferred. During the fall, winter, and spring, part-time students are accepted, but interns must be able to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week. International students must be able to provide documentation that shows they are allowed to work in the United States.

  • Writing sample of approximately three pages
  • College or university transcript
  • Recommendation letter(s) (optional)

Summer: June–August
