Description –

The Pennsylvania Budget and Policy Center (PBPC) is a non-partisan research and advocacy project that provides budget and fiscal analysis and public education in support of policies to improve the economic and social well-being of low- and middle-income Pennsylvanians.

PBPC’s vision is that all Pennsylvania citizens will enjoy a system of taxation that is fair and progressive, and that raises sufficient revenue to provide quality public services and economic prosperity. The Center is a project of the Keystone Research Center (KRC) and a member of the State Fiscal Analysis Network coordinated by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.

PBPC seeks highly motivated undergraduate and graduate students (including law), as well as recent graduates, in the following areas for full-and part-time internships: Communications, State Budget and Tax Policy, Health Care Policy, Education Policy, Outreach Campaigns, and Poverty and Income Support Issues.

Internships are available for the fall, spring, and summer semesters. The typical length of an internship is one semester (approximately 10-12 weeks). Individuals interested in a second internship may qualify upon a review of PBPC needs at the end of the first internship.

The positions are designed to reflect an intern's interests in conjunction with PBPC's needs and the legislative climate. Applicants should have research, fact-gathering, writing, analytic, and computer skills and a willingness to do administrative as well as substantive tasks.

Compensation

The typical internship is for 10 weeks and is compensated at $10 per hour.
