Lambeth Council's Policy and Communications team are recruiting a Policy and Communications Manager – Policy and Partnerships


Lambeth is changing fast and as a council, we are working hard to make the most of this change and ensure that it benefits all residents, whilst also trying to retain what makes our borough unique. These commitments are reflected in the new Borough Plan – our core strategy - and we are looking for a Policy & Communications Manager to help drive its implementation and support and develop our existing partnerships, so that all partners are working together to achieve our vision for Lambeth. Reducing inequality needs particular attention and the Lambeth Equality Commission, due to report shortly, will set out a direction of travel for how we achieve this.


As part of a great team, you would be helping us to achieve the ambitions set out in the Borough Plan and to implement the recommendations of the Equality Commission. You will also be responsible for wider strategy, policy, research and insight, and equalities work.


This is a challenging time for local government but one where there is a real opportunity to work differently and respond positively to the changing context. To help us do this we are looking for an individual who is comfortable working in a changing context and is keen to help shape the future for local government. It will be an excellent chance to work with a talented team at one of the country's flagship boroughs.




Support and develop existing and new partnerships, 

Commission, disseminate and enable others to use research and evaluation supporting Lambeth to become a data and evidence driven organisation

Contribute to the development and implementation of strategy

Help lead and support the organisation’s work on equalities

Experience and attributes


Experience of supporting and developing partnerships and partnership working

Experience of leading projects and project teams

Good at quickly and efficiently gaining the trust and confidence of senior colleagues, including councillors and external stakeholders

Good analytical, verbal and written communication skills
