Conduct large-scale quantitative research on major K-12 education policy issues; analyze large-scale educational datasets from various sources; apply advanced quantitative social science methods such as quasi-experimental methods including difference-in-difference, regression discontinuity, and instrumental variable techniques using statistical software; collect, analyze and interpret complex educational data to evaluate major K-12 education policy issues; apply substantive knowledge from education and other social sciences to develop research questions with important policy implications and write research papers; formulate policy recommendations and advise policymakers; write grant proposals; write policy reports and journal articles and present scholarly work at professional conferences.
PhD degree in educational leadership and policy or another closely related field is required.
